Can't I just disable it?

You can, in three clicks, and we say so on the box. But that's an argument for friction, not against it. A hard block gives you an opponent: it says no, you say watch me, and the effort that could have gone into the question goes into beating the software instead — which you win, once, and then it's off for good. That's how people uninstall a blocker in week two. Friction never refuses you, so there's nothing to beat. Holding the button is always easier than removing the extension, so almost nobody removes it, and the holding is the part that works.

The short version: the extension is yours to use, the free part stays free, and it is not a security product. It puts a pause in front of a site — it does not stop a determined person, including you, and it has never claimed to.

what it is not, in writing

Few Seconds Focus is not a security product, not parental control, and not enforcement. Any browser extension can be disabled in three clicks by whoever is at the keyboard, and this one is built on that assumption rather than against it.

So: no promise is made that a site will be blocked, that a hold cannot be circumvented, or that the extension will be running when you expect it to. Do not rely on it where the consequence of it failing matters.

It also does nothing outside the browser it is installed in. There is no PIN, no administrator mode, and no way to use it to restrict somebody else.
